Developing a Homework Template
Faculty don’t like to admit it, but they are influenced by the look of an assignment, not just the content. Sloppy looking work tends to receive less partial credit. Good looking work tends to be given more of the benefit of the doubt.
It really helps to have a template for your work. Below is an example of a template that you might use for the front page of your assignment. You should put a template like this on your computer. That way it takes very little time to complete the template for each assignment you turn in.
The actual content should be typed. It also helps if you guide the grader in your organization. You might find this to be a useful approach
Assignment Statement: Repeat the assignment. For assignments with multiple parts, do each part separately. Type this in bold font.
Assignment Content: Type your response to the assignment next. Repeat this for each part of the assignment.
You will find that the template and the organizational approach described above take very little time but can make a big difference in your grade.
