Ing Conceiving

Conceiving

Conceiving careers involve the development of original works from scratch, usually limited only by the chosen medium or genre.

Typical job titles for people who choose conceiving career paths include:

  • writer
  • artist
  • choreographer
  • playwright
  • composer
  • photographer

Conceiving careers tend to be done by individuals working on their own.  Some conceiving careers also involve people who help bring the work of the original creator to the public.

Many different majors can lead to a conceiving career path, and some majors can provide more support than others, but college experience generally has no direct impact on successful conceiving careers, which often involve formal or informal apprenticeships.

People in conceiving careers need to be able to:

  • create art, ideas, and solutions
  • conceive a ‘finished product’ from a starting point
  • visualize art, plans, or future possibilities
  • accept criticism

Testimonials

  • This semester I have made a lot of changes that have made me successful.  I tried note cards for my classes and that worked very well.  Also, I tried studying more throughout the week instead of cramming it all in one night.  That seemed to work because it gave me a chance to go through everything instead of just summarizing the information.  Another thing I did was never went back to my dorm during the day.  Instead I would go to the library and get my work done that needed to be done.  I found out that going to the library is way easier to focus instead of my dorm room, where there were many distractions.  One main thing that I did was didn't party as much.  As a first semester freshman, it seemed like the cool thing to do was go out during the week, but I learned not to do that, and instead I study more..
