Selling

Selling careers involve identifying needs and communicating information about a product or service so as to persuade someone else to purchase the product or service.

Typical job titles for people who choose selling career paths include:

  • salesperson
  • sales engineer
  • marketing representative
  • broker
  • agent
  • promoter
  • buyer

Selling careers are available in almost any organization.  In many cases, selling is considered an essential requirement of other career paths as well.

Many different majors can lead to a selling career path.

People in selling careers need to be able to:

  • interact with people
  • take initiative
  • handle winning and losing
  • compete alone or on a team

Testimonials

  • This semester I have made many improvements; one major improvement is keeping track of my assignments on a white board I keep on my wall.  When I get home from class I fill out the assignments I received for that day and do as many of them as I can.  This is very helpful because I don't fall behind on my assignments, and I keep up with homework.  Another improvement is going to my classes.  Before this semester I was lazy and missed far too many classes.  By simply going to my classes, my grades have changed greatly.  I know when homework assignments are due, exam times, and I kmow so much more of the information we learn..
